Project Description: Cedars Hall Music Building
QSPM were appointed by Wells Cathedral School to revive a phased programme of work they had planned to construct a new recording and broadcast specification Performance Music Building and a new purpose built Sports Pavilion, along with relocation of the schools maintenance and grounds departments to a new building.
QSPM provided the School with a project recovery solution including: 1) Project re-appraisal, 2) Budget reconciliation and realistic value engineering whilst retaining design intent, 3) Alternative procurement route, 4) Market testing, 5) Re-tendering and contract award for lump sum fixed price, 6) Proactive Project and Cost Management throughout the process.
Following its completion the Cedars Hall Music Building has won several awards including the RIBA South West Award and RIBA South West Building of the Year. QSPM are continuing to work with the School on further developments they are undertaking across the campus.
